She taught elementary school for thirty-one years, the last twelve years at Paul Keyes Elementary School in Irving, Texas. As a military wife, she taught school all over the country and overseas, while raising five children in Tennessee, South Carolina, Kentucky, California, Izmir Turkey, Maryland, Lakenheath England, Georgia and Texas. By Gods grace and his perfect timing, Celeste met Roy Roberts at Plymouth Park Baptist church in 1991, and he fell in love with her kind nature, her compassionate soul and her sweet smile.
