Caroline Cox Magoon was born on September 23, 1930, in Bell County, Texas and passed away peacefully in Schertz, Texas, on January 28, 2020. Carolines gift was service, and she welcomed opportunities to faithfully serve her parents, her husband and children. When it became obvious that round the clock care was required for her youngest daughter, Sandy, Caroline did not complain - she loved, provided full-time care, and served Sandy every day for over 40 years.
Caroline graduated from Belton High School in 1947, where she was honored as "Best Female Athlete". After receiving her Junior Accounting degree, she worked in Houston where she met Frederick Dana Magoon. They were married on February 11, 1949. Fred and Caroline made their home in Irving, where Caroline was a homemaker and devoted mother to their 3 children, while Fred travelled for days at a time as a pilot for Braniff Airlines.
Caroline is survived by her brothers, Ray, Wallace and Carl and her sister, Patricia; her daughter and son-in-law, Phil and Terry Preis of Baton Rouge, son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Julie Magoon of San Antonio, and daughter Sandra Lynn Magoon of San Antonio; her grandchildren, Phillip and Emelie Preis, Caroline and Eric Graham, Michael Preis, Laura and Tim Kenney, Richard and Amy Magoon, Daniel and Ryan Smith-Magoon, Jennifer and Gray Pou, and 9 great-grandchildren Marie, Connor, Sophia, Louise, Wes, Emelie, Edward, Caroline and Helen. Caroline was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Mrs. Dovie Ray, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Horace William Cox, of Belton, and her husband, Frederick Dana Magoon, her brothers, "Red" and Hal and her sister Linda, and one great-grandchild, Sweet Baby Pou.
