Carole Ann Brown of Irving, Texas passed away on March 14, 2026 surrounded by her loving

family. She was 90 years old and will be missed as beloved Mother and Grandmother. Carole

was born in Mankato, Minnesota on September 20,1935 to Joseph and Rose Oberle. The

family moved to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1950, where she lived until she married.

Carole met and married Robert Brown as both were training as X-Ray Technicians. They had a

daughter born in Corpus Christi and then moved to Victoria, Texas, where their son was born.

They moved quite a bit for graduate school and jobs - to Houston, Texas City, back to

Houston. In 1969, they moved to Overland Park, Kansas and in the winter of 1972 to East

Brunswick, New Jersey. In 1978, they moved back to Texas to Irving, where she lived for the

rest of her life, close to her son.

Carole was very proud that her kids graduated from college. She loved becoming a

grandparent and was very active playing with her grandchildren including backyard Slip and

Slides. Now grown, they continued to be actively involved taking her to the botanical gardens

for Christmas light displays and butterfly exhibits as well as many family activities. Carole

enjoyed cooking for family holidays and all family time. She also enjoyed several trips with her

siblings as they got older. Carole retired in 2001. A highlight for her was a trip to Rome with

her daughter Sheryl in 2007 for her first time out of the USA and where she also attended the

Wednesday General Audience with Pope Benedict - very special with her Catholic faith.

Carole was preceded in death by her Parents, her sister Teresa, her sister Audrey Hilgert and

husband Frederick, her brother Ron Oberle and her younger sister Mary Oberle.

Carole is survived by her children Sheryl (husband Skip) and Stephen (wife Donna) and his

sons Tyler (wife Amna) and Austin (wife Alyssa). Also by her brother Ron's wife Barbara Oberle

and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass for Carole Brown will be held at St. Luke Catholic Church in Irving, Texas on

Thursday May 14th at 10 am followed by inurnment at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
