Obituary

On a peaceful and serene night, Callae Ann McMahon made her final trip home, passing into the arms of the Lord, her savior and protector, at the age of 50. Callae approached life with the energy and optimism that few could muster, and many would admire. From a young age, Kelly wanted to experience all that life had to offer. She dove into her hobbies and friendships with enthusiasm, always looking for the next avenue to have fun and a person with whom to share it. She loved her family, the mountains of Colorado, the Denver Broncos, snow skiing, outdoor concerts, dancing, and music. A 1981 graduate of Wheat Ridge High School in Colorado, she competed in many sports, including gymnastics and diving. She was known for her fun-loving personality, neon-bright smile and infectious laugh. She lived a bold life, filled with risk and reward, heartbreak and happiness. She had a will and determination to live life on her terms, despite her struggles. She never lost touch with her family, especially her parents, who loved and supported her until her passing. A spiritual person, Kelly held close her Christian beliefs. From a young age, she was fascinated with the study of angels. She never stopped wondering about angels, their origin and purpose in her life. Perhaps now, those mysteries have been revealed to her. Most recently, Kelly loved to read, cook and hear from friends about their latest adventures. She was always proud of others and their accomplishments. She never lost her youthful nature, and seemed to have the uncanny ability, as children often do, to see the truth and meaning in life, away from its material distractions. She loved dearly her three nieces, Amanda, Christina and Ellie; her nephew, Hatcher, along with sister-in-law Tina and brotherin-law, Randy. Kelly demonstrated extraordinary strength and courage in life and death. We will miss her everyday but are comforted by the fact she is free and at peace. We look forward to the day we will meet our angel again. A-a-a-men! Callae is survived by her loving parents, Gary and Shirley McMahon, of Irving, TX; her sister Michele DeWitt (Randy), of Frisco, TX and brother Michael McMahon (Tina) of Dallas, TX. The family is planning a private funeral service.
