BRENT THURMAN, age 48, of Irving, formerly of Arlington, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at his home. Born March 15, 1966 in Irving, he is the son of James C. Thurman and Lucille Baer Thurman. He was a lift truck mechanic for Darr Equipment for 28 years. Survived by his wife, the love of his life, Shelley Givens Thurman; a daughter Amanda Thurman; his parents James and Lucille Thurman of Irving; a brother Bryan Thurman and wife Kelly of Irving; niece Emma Thurman; nephew, Austin Thurman; father and mother-in-law, Bob and Sarah Givens of Irving; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Lori Little and their sons Sumner and Matt of Coppell; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends. He is also survived by his beloved and faithful dog, Bob Barker. Brent was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing and race cars and was a talented artist. The family will receive friends 6:00 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2014 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. The funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel. Rev. Larry Chalker and Rev. Tom Goodson will officiate. Burial will follow at the Old Southland Cemetery in Grand Prairie.
