Billy R. Pierce of Irving, died on Friday, March 3, 2017 at home at the age of 91. He was born on February 3, 1926 in Tyler, Texas to Clayton Cecil and Essie Mabel (Tomlinson) Pierce. Billy served his country in the US Navy and afterward, served his community as a Peace Officer. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen F. Pierce; son, Robert Pierce; daughter, Nancy Browning; three brothers: E.J., Harold and Richard Pierce. Billy was a member of the Athens chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, St. Johns Lodge # 53, in Tyler, Texas. He was a member of Northgate United Methodist Church in Irving. Survivors include: daughter, Cindy Pierce of Irving; grandchildren, Ashley Meredith and husband Matt of Euless, Trevor Browning of San Antonio; great-granddaughter, Sadie Meredith; daughter-in-law, Kathy Pierce of Arlington. A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 11th at the Northgate United Methodist Church, 3700 West Northgate Drive, Irving, Texas 75062. Rev. Levy Laguardia will officiate.
