Mary Elizabeth (Bette) Sibley, 84, of Dallas, Texas, joyfully entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on March 26. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 2 at 10:00 a.m., in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Dallas. The family will receive guests immediately following the service. Bette was born on October 1, 1926, in El Paso, Texas, to George and Jane Quesenberry. She was uniquely blessed with a godly legacy, and by her life, transformed it into an even greater one. The impact of that legacy can be graphically seen in her love for evangelism, missions, discipleship, and prayer. She met George W. Sibley, who was to be the love of her life, and married him on May 17, 1945. Above any honor which could be bestowed on her, Bette cherished her roles as wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She sacrificially invested her life in her family with the goal of seeing each one becoming all that God created him or her to be. The verse which she treasured was III John 4: I have no greater joy than this: to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
Bette is survived by her husband of 65 years, their five children: Gary Sibley, Jim Sibley, Keith Sibley, Ken Sibley, Becki Sibley Carmichael; their spouses; fourteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a host of friends.
