BESSIE LEE ELLIS, age 81, a resident of Austin, Texas for eight years, formerly of Euless, Texas since 1958, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2013. Born September 21, 1931 in Birmingham, Alabama, to Jack Taylor Freeman and Nellie Felts Freeman, she grew up in Nashville, Tennessee and attended North Nashville High School. Bessie married Clarence William Ellis on October 5, 1956. He preceded her in death in 1992. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. Also preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila Kay Huggett and sister, Doris Kay Vaughn, survivors include her son, Leroy Whitson; daughter, Kimberly Grace Harper; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother, Jack Freeman; and sister, Peggy Ann Kirchner. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 23 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. Funeral service is 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2013 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jack Roseberry officiating. Burial will follow at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville.
