Funeral service for Bernis J. "B.J." Mathieu, 96, will be 2:00 PM, Friday, June 30, 2023, at the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel of Irving. Friends and family may visit from 12 noon until service time, Friday, in the chapel. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving. Bernis was born in LeRoy, Louisiana, he was the son of Willie and Eva Abshire Mathieu. He passed away Saturday, June 23rd, at his residence in Irving. B.J. has lived in Irving since 1959 and was a retired truck driver. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, of 69 years, Mary Mathieu; son-in-law, Albert Clifton; brothers, Newma Joseph Mathieu, and Curtis Mathieu; and his sister, Audrey Hooks. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Sharon Clifton, son Sammy Mathieu, sister, Barbree Layne and six grandchildren. There are no gallery images.
