Benjamin Michael Scott, age 40, of Irving, Texas, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026.

Born on October 26, 1985, in Richardson, Texas, Ben was the beloved son of Jeffrie Scott and the late Bill Scott. His love of the outdoors and persistent nature led to him achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, a distinction awarded to the top 2% of all Boy Scouts. He graduated from L.V. Berkner High School in Richardson, Texas, and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Science from Texas A&M University. He built a career in construction management, where he was respected for his dedication and strong work ethic. Ben married Melissa Jordan on September 24, 2016 and was looking forward to celebrating their ten-year anniversary later this year.

Ben was a devoted husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend who touched the lives of many with his kindness and sense of humor. He is survived by his loving wife, Melissa Scott, nee Jordan; his mom, Jeffrie Scott; his siblings, Matt Scott (Lauren), and Caleb Scott (Amanda); and his nephews and nieces, Will, Georgia, Colin, Ethan, Delaney, and Josie. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Scott.

Ben enjoyed time spent with family and friends, trips to the beach, watching the Dallas Stars, and playing with his beloved dogs, Max and Charley. He was also a passionate advocate for the Second Amendment and could often be found on the range.

Visitation will take place at 12:00 pm on Thursday, April 9, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 1:00 pm at the Colonial Funeral Home of Irving, 606 W Airport Fwy, Irving, TX 75062.
