Funeral services for Benita Joy Soward, 58, of Irving, will be 1:00 pm, Friday, September 1, 2023 at the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, 606 West Airport Freeway, Irving, with Rev. Larry Craig officiating. Friends may visit Thursday, August 31st from 5;00 PM till 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving Benita was born July 23, 1965 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Burl and Donetta Plumley Holstein. She passed away Tuesday, August 29th at the Baylor, Scott, & White Medical Center in Irving. She adored going on vacation, going camping, fishing, and working as a paramedic since it allowed her to care for people, something she was passionate about. Benita was preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish her memory, her husband, Carl Soward; children, Susan Lovejoy and Steven Lovejoy, Tasha Soward and Tonya Lard; grandchildren, Malachi Valdez, Klowie Lard, Preston Lard and Accalia "KK" Valdez; sisters, Lisa Hicks and Janice Holstein.
