BARBARA R. MILLER, age 87, a resident of Irving since 1963, died Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Redbud Assisted Living in McKinney. Born February 19, 1927 in Independence, Missouri, she was the daughter of Ray D. and Ruth Klein. She graduated from William Chrisman High School in Independence and from Park College in Parkville, Missouri. On November 1, 1958, she married Charles R. Miller in Independence. He preceded her in death on March 4, 2004. She was a member of Woodhaven Presbyterian Church in Irving. A claims adjuster, she worked in the insurance profession for over 30 years. She was a volunteer at Irving Community Hospital and Baylor Medical Center in Irving for many years. Survivors include her son David B. Miller and wife Jennifer of Allen, Texas; grandchildren, Garrett Miller and Gina Miller. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Redbud Assisted Living Center and to Hospice Plus for the loving care they gave Barbara. Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery with her husband. A memorial service will follow at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Woodhaven Presbyterian Church, 3650 N. OConnor Road in Irving.
