BARBARA E. GRANNY DUKE, age 96, of Grand Prairie, and faithful member of Northgate United Methodist Church, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, December 16, 2012 at her home. Born October 23, 1916 in Spencer, North Carolina, she was the daughter of Hubert and Lilly Hill. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Vernon Leroy Duke; her daughter, Betty Jo Williams; brother, Mack Hill; and sister, Tomsy Bekkum, she is survived by her daughter, Brenda Williams (Wayne Gerold); brother, Joe Hill (Pat) of El Paso; grandchildren, Denise (Bill) Davis, Dianne (Jim) Fidelibus, Angela (Johnny) Vail, Tony (Cheryl) Brewer, Ron (Rhonda) Grantham, Tonya (Charles) Trub, Lauren (Mike) Logan, Chris (Jennifer) Gerold, Stewart (Jackie) Gerold, Derrow Carter; 19 great grandchildren, David Herold, Gregg, Clint & Travis Vail, Anthony Milton, Gloria McCallum, Robert Fidelibus, Hannah, Caity, and Mark Brewer, Eli, Jerrod, Delia and Katie Grantham, Rylan Trub, Victoria, Nicholas, Andrew, and Haleigh Gerold; and 4 great-great grandchildren, Kaelynn, Holland, and Mason Vail, and Maximus McCallum. Visitation 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 W. Airport Freeway in Irving. Funeral service 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Northgate United Methodist Church, 3700 West Northgate Drive in Irving. Burial service is 1:30 p.m., Thursday at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Lane C. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northgate United Methodist Church.
