ANTHONY PATRICK "TONY" BROWN, SR., age 47, a resident of Irving since 1977, was granted his angel wings on Saturday, April 11, 2015. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Tony had touched throughout his short, yet very memorable life.
Tony's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His life brought so much laughter and joy to our family. He was a devoted father, husband, son, brother, uncle, coach, and friend. He will always be remembered the most as a proud and loving father to A.J. and Abby.
He was born November 28, 1967 in Lowell, Massachusetts, and passed away with his family by his side April 11, 2015 at Medical City Hospital in Dallas in the care of their exceptional team of doctors and nurses.
He was the son of Henry James Brown and Rosemarie Maffeo Brown. On March 3, 2001, Tony married Shannon Bennett in Irving. He operated a mobile check cashing business, was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, and a member of Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church in Irving. Survivors include his loving wife, Shannon of Irving; son, A.J. Brown; daughter, Abby Brown; and mother Rosemarie Brown, all of Irving; sisters, Debby Ruth of Wylie, and Rosemarie Zieschang-Prince of Irving; as well as several nieces and nephews. Tony was preceded in death by his father, Henry James Brown.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 16 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. A Memorial Mass will be 6:00 p.m., Friday, April 17 at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church, 2323 Cheyenne in Irving with Rev. Albert Becher as celebrant.
The Brown family would like to thank everyone for your love, support, and prayers during this difficult time.
