On Sunday, May 21, 2023, Annette Carmen Fukuda passed away at the age of 77 in Highland Village, TX. Annette was born June 7, 1945, in Six-Fours-les-Plages in the South of France to Arthur and Jeannette Valorose. Her family moved to West Springfield, MA when she was less than a year old. Her brother Tom was born a few years later. Her childhood was spent in the company of her parents, brother, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She worked in the airline industry for many years, allowing her to travel all over the world. She lived in New York City for awhile and then Denver. Then she moved to Honolulu, HI where she met Mervyn Fukuda. On July 26, 1975, Annette and Mervyn were married in Aiea, HI. They had two sons, Chad in 1975 and Marc in 1980. They moved to Lewisville, TX in 1980, during one of the hottest summers ever and still remembered how the tires on the U-Haul truck were sinking into the airport tarmac! Annette was a true soccer mom (before the term even existed), spending many Saturdays on the field with her two boys. She worked for UPS for more than a decade, most of it on the night shift. Being so far from their families, they made close friends that became like family, including O.B. & Mary Ann Chapman, Robert & Dana Donnelly, Sue Lee & Don Herriott, and Cary & Suzie Mitchell. Annette was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Jeannette Valorose, her husband, Mervyn Fukuda and her son, Chad Fukuda. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Marc and wife Janet Fukuda, grandchildren, Xander Fukuda and Caroline Fukuda; and her brother, Tom and wife Nancy Valorose. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 24th, at 5:30pm 7:30 pm at the Colonial Funeral Home of Irving 606 West Airport Freeway, Irving, TX. Annette will be buried with her husband Mervyn Fukuda at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe, HI at a later date. There are no gallery images.
