Amber Suzanne Ostermayer, age 51, left us to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 20, 2015. Amber was born in Beaumont, Texas on December 16, 1963 and resided with her friends at Holy Angels Residential Facility in Shreveport, Louisiana since 1967. She is survived by her parents, Arthur and Nancy Ostermayer; brother, Eric; sister-in-law, Lee Ann; and her niece Hannah. Amber was faced from birth with profound physical and cognitive disabilities, and though her doctors predicted that she would not see her teenage years, Amber proved those experts (and many others) wrong time and time again. Amber fought through her many struggles on this earth with a strength and determination seldom seen, and her feisty personality and wry sense of humor endeared her to all. Her life is celebrated by the many who knew and loved her. Amber's family would especially like to express their gratitude to Linda, June Bug, and Betty Boop, who gave so much in time and attention to Amber's care. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Holy Angels Residential Facility, 10450 Ellerbe Road, Shreveport, LA 71106.
