Alice Granny Richburg, age 81, a long-time resident of Irving, died Monday, May 12, 2014 at a local care center. Born April 24, 1933 in Dallas, Texas, she married Roy Richburg, Jr. there on July 3, 1948. She was a customer service supervisor for the Student Division of United Insurance Company for about 30 years. She was a member of Calvary Church in Irving. Preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Doris and Georgia Faye, her husband Roy, and son, David Richburg, she is survived by three sons, Donald R. Richburg and wife Cheryl of Carrollton, Ronald Richburg and wife Debbie of Houston, Steve Richburg and wife Kathy of Irving; a daughter Cindy Thomas of Grand Prairie; a granddaughter, that she raised as a daughter, Marchelle Black and husband Patrick of Grand Prairie; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren on the way. The family will receive friends 7:00 9:00 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2014 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
